
Bernard B. Cecil, 81, passed away
June 9, 2006 at home from complications of Parkinson's Disease.
Bernie was born October 3, 1924 in St.
Paul, NE to Mildred
and Hugh Cecil. He is survived by his wife, Leonamae (Lee)
Cecil, two sons, Daniel B. (Diana), and Douglas M. (Patty), nine Grandchildren,
and seven Great Grandchildren. Bernie served in WWII in the China, Burma, India
Theatre of war as a B-25 Bomber Pilot. After the war, he went back to school at
the University of
Nebraska where he earned
a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for 37 years for General
Electric Co. at GE Aircraft Engines in Cincinnati,
OH. During this time he also
served in the Air Force Reserves, retiring in 1987 at the rank of Colonel.
Bernie and Lee have lived in Colorado
Springs 15 years, having moved here in 1991. In lieu
of flowers, donations can be made to Holy
Cross Lutheran
Church, Pikes Peak
Hospice or Parkinson's Foundation. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, June
13, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade
Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. The funeral services will be held Wednesday
afternoon 2:00 P.M. at Holy
Cross Lutheran
Church, 4125 Constitution Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO.
