Thomas Wilson Curtis, Sr., 69, of Lancaster, passed away at his winter
home in DeBary, Florida. He was born May 19, 1942 in Wilmington, Ohio. Tom was a
member of Greencastle Bible Church. He was a VietNam veteran serving in the U.S.
Navy. He was aboard the USS Enterprise and worked as a jet mechanic. He later
retired with over 35 years of service with the Air Force Reserves and DCSC where
he was a Quality Control Manager. One of Tom's greatest passions was restoring
Vintage Cars.
Tom is survived by his wife of 48 years, Martha Ann (Wylie) Curtis; sons, Tom
(Charlene) Curtis Jr. of Lancaster and Shane Curtis of Canal Winchester;
grandchildren, Seth and Tristen Curtis, Tony (Lindsey) Miller; great
grandchildren, Alaina, Owen and Ashlynn Miller; brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Bill (Shirley) Wylie and Mary Johnston both of Xenia, Kay
(Phillip) Correa of Deltona, Florida, Connie Wylie and Dennis Wylie of North
Carolina and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by
his father and stepmother, Earl and Edith Curtis; his mother, Mary (Reeder)
Curtis; four brothers, Franklin, Happy, Donald and Larry Curtis and three infant
sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in
Amanda with Rev. Charles Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in Amanda Twp.
Cemetery where military honors will be provided by AMVETS Post #2256. Friends
may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday and 12:00 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at
the funeral home.
