GRUBBS Paul William
Grubbs Jr., Lt. Col. USAFR (retired), age 71, of Pickerington, died December
30, 2003 at his residence. Born March 6, 1932, in Germantown, Ohio. 1950
graduate of Germantown High School, and 1955 graduate of the University of
Dayton. Member of the first Naval A.D.C. Class of 29-1955 at Pensacola Naval
Air Station, Florida, where he was commissioned and awarded his wings. In 1965
he accepted a commission in the USAFR and finished his career in 1992, as an
ART at Rickenbacker AFB, Ohio. He had accumulated over 6000 flight hours.
Active member in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, where he served as usher for
20 years. Member of the Knights of Columbus; Lifetime member of the Reserve
Officers Assoc. and the 302nd Wing Assoc. Longtime member of DCSC Officers Club
and Columbus Maennerchor. Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Gladys
Grubbs. Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Patricia A. Grubbs; children,
Paul William (Michelle) Grubbs III, Pamela Marie (Kevin) Shields;
grandchildren, Dustin, Daniel, Emily, Erika, Derek, Morgan and Mara; sister
Marianne Grubbs; cousin, Robert Grubbs; brothers-in-law, Thomas (Janel) Ryan
and Jack (Diane) Ryan; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit Friday,
January 2, 2004, 6-8 p.m. at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Road
North (Rt. 256), Pickerington, Ohio. There will be a prayer service at 6 p.m.
Friday. Funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Seton Parish, 600 Hill
Road North (Rt. 256), Pickerington, with Father James Klima officiating.
Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Pataskala, Ohio.
