Paul Richard
Hagedorn, 78, of Wilmington, died Thursday morning (Feb. 21, 2008) at Clinton
Memorial Hospital, Wilmington. He was preceded in death by his first wife,
Carol Barbara Hagedorn, who died in 1974. He is survived by his second wife,
Norma Flint Snodgrass. They were married in 1977.
Mr. Hagedorn
was born Saturday, Sept. 7, 1929, in Pleasant Plain, son of the late William
and Corinna Lowman Hagedorn. He retired after 20 years of service in the active
reserves with the U.S. Air Force. He had served 19 years in civil service at
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He was a member of the Bowersville Church of
Christ, Port William Senior Citizens Center and Antique Power Club of Clinton
County.
In addition
to his second wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kathryn (Wesley) Meranda of
Apex, N.C.; two sons, Duane (Mary) Hagedorn of Wilmington and Richard (April)
Hagedorn of Lynchburg; three stepchildren, Deborah (Matt) Harvey of Wilmington,
Kathy Ann Bradford of West Union and Jamie (Mary) Snodgrass of St. Louis, Mo.;
13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition
to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, James
Paul Bradford, and a brother, Harold Hagedorn.
Services
will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the FISHER-EDGINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 97 W. Locust
St. at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington, with burial in Clinton County Memory
Gardens, where the Wilmington American Legion Post 49 memorial squad will
accord full military honors. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Antique
